BUYER GUIDE
Custom Bag Compliance Document Checklist
A certificate name alone does not prove that every material, process or finished product in a new order is covered.
A practical buyer checklist
Start with the destination market
Ask the buyer’s compliance team to identify the applicable product, chemical, labeling and packaging requirements for the intended country and sales channel.
Build a material list
Record outer fabric, lining, foam, board, zipper, metal parts, inks, adhesives, labels and packaging. Mark which items need declarations or test evidence.
Check document scope
Match the company name, material description, test standard, issue date and covered article to the actual specification. Keep expired or unrelated documents out of the approval file.
Define finished-product tests
Material reports may not cover color transfer, zipper function, seam strength, odor or packed-product performance. Agree the required tests and sample stage in writing.
Control changes
A new color, coating, trim, print method or sub-supplier can change the evidence needed. Require written approval before substitutions enter production.
Close the shipment file
Retain the approved specification, sample record, inspection result, packing details and relevant declarations or reports with the purchase documentation.
Confirm requirements for each order
Requirements differ by product, material, market and sales channel. BSN can organize available manufacturing and material records for review, while the buyer remains responsible for defining the applicable legal and retailer requirements.
Verify the scope before relying on the evidence
Move from a document list to evidence that is verified against the current supplier, site, material, sample and order.
