BUYER GUIDE
How to Prevent Zipper Failure in Travel Makeup Bags
A zipper should be evaluated as part of the complete packed bag—not as an isolated component.
A practical development checklist
Specify the expected load
Share the typical contents and packed weight so zipper tape, slider, seam and body structure can be reviewed together.
Protect movement around corners
Very tight radii increase resistance. The opening shape, piping, seam thickness and zipper path should be checked on a loaded sample.
Reinforce the stress points
Zipper ends, handle bases and corner seams carry concentrated force and should be included in workmanship and use testing.
Test repeated opening
Operate the approved sample both empty and fully packed, checking slider movement, tooth alignment, seam distortion and closure effort.
Confirm claims in writing
Materials, construction, test methods and acceptance criteria should be recorded in the approved specification. Final performance depends on the complete product and must not be assumed from a reference image.
