BUYER GUIDE
Export Packaging Protection for Custom Bags
A bag can pass final inspection and still arrive creased, marked, damp or distorted if export packing is approved too late.
Approve the requirement before production
Packing should protect the approved product through compression, handling, storage and transport without creating new marks, odor or unnecessary volume. The correct method depends on structure, material, hardware, presentation and shipping route.
Map the risks of the finished construction
Identify parts that can crush, crease, abrade, transfer color or press into adjacent products. Review rigid handles, padded panels, clear windows, plated hardware, embroidery, printed surfaces and structured corners separately.
Use the final approved bag and retail components when planning protection. A flat pouch, padded lay-flat case and rigid-handle bag should not share one default packing method.
Choose inner packing that preserves shape and finish
Decide whether tissue, inserts, sleeves, protective films, dividers or individual bags are needed. Confirm that contact materials do not transfer ink, trap odor, scratch hardware or leave pressure marks during storage.
Avoid overstuffing that permanently stretches seams or underfilling that allows a structured product to collapse. Review the unpacked appearance after a realistic compression period.
Plan carton quantity and moisture control
Set carton quantity from product dimensions, weight, construction and handling needs instead of maximizing unit count alone. Record carton dimensions, gross and net weight, arrangement and any orientation marks in the packing specification.
Moisture-control decisions should reflect material condition, packing environment, route and storage risk. Products should be dry and aired before sealing; any desiccant or barrier method must be agreed for the specific shipment.
Approve packing with a shipment trial
Pack a representative carton using production-intent materials, then review compression, movement, abrasion and recovery after handling. Where the buyer requires a formal transport test, agree the method, configuration and acceptance criteria before testing.
Final inspection should confirm both product workmanship and the approved packing method. Keep carton markings, label placement, assortment and document requirements in the same written handover.
BUYER FAQ
Questions to settle in the specification.
Should every custom bag be individually packed?
That depends on surface protection, retail presentation, buyer requirements and the selected material. The method should be approved for the actual product.
How is carton quantity decided?
Balance product protection, carton dimensions, weight, handling and freight efficiency, then verify the arrangement with a representative packed carton.
Can packing be finalized after production?
It is safer to approve packing during sampling because inserts, labels, carton size and product recovery can affect cost and shipment readiness.
